Mode of Action
- Lambda cyhalothrin 5% EC is a type of insecticide that belongs to the pyrethroid class of chemicals. It works by targeting the nervous system of insects, disrupting their normal function, and ultimately leading to their death.
- Lambda-cyhalothrin binds to and activates voltage-gated sodium channels on the surface of insect nerve cells.
- This causes the channels to open, allowing an influx of sodium ions into the cells.
- The influx of sodium ions leads to a depolarization of the cell membrane, which triggers a series of nerve impulses that ultimately cause paralysis and death in the insect.
